Our vision of the future must keep water access at the forefront of all plans. Masdar City – the United Arab Emirates’ ambitious Eco-City, aspires to become the world’s first zero-carbon, zero-waste city powered entirely by renewable energy sources.
Masdar City will be the largest and one of the most advanced sustainable communities in the world. The electricity for the six square kilometre city will be generated by photovoltaic panels, while cooling will be provided via concentrated solar power. Water consumption will be reduced by over 50% compared to the Abu Dhabi baseline. Landscaping within and around the site will be irrigated with grey water and treated waste water produced by the city’s water treatment plant.
Mímir Water Pod
The Mímir Water Pod provides a cost effective, flexible, portable, and energy efficient solution that serves as an alternative water source for Eco-Cities such as Masdar, and residential and commercial centers. The Mimir Water Pod produces three-thousand gallons of water daily; benefits include:
